I woke this morning to the really sad news that former Apple CEO Steve Jobs has died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 56 years.
Jobs had such a massive impact on the digital age we now live in. Just this week we hung on to Apple’s every last word as they released details of the new iPhone 4S. But his reach goes much further than Apple.
Steve Jobs really did help to grow social media as quickly as it did. He took the ability to access Facebook, Twitter and the other key social media platforms from being sat at our desktop to being on the move. He made our social lives mobile. Would Twitter be so successful now if we couldn’t tweet on the move?
So, Steve Jobs, a personal thank you to you for inspiring me and helping to grow an industry I now have a place in. You will forever go down in history as one of the world’s great visionaries. Rest in peace.
❝Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Stay hungry. Stay foolish.❞
Steve Jobs, RIP
