I was over in the Isle of Man this weekend for a wedding. I grew up in the Isle of Man and my family still live there, so it’s always fab to go back!
My parents run a plant nurseries business there. They do pretty well through their Facebook page, and get a good flow of business from it, with the help of their mascot – Toby the Westie!
My mum gave me a hamper of goodies to bring back to Manchester, which I took a picture of and added to my Instagram account. I added the hashtag #BallanelsonNurseries.
I thought I’d have been the only person to use that hashtag on Instagram, but there were two other images there with the same hashtag. Both were images taken at the nurseries, which my mum had no knowledge of! They were fab pictures, and spoke positively about the nurseries.
Got me thinking! How many brand mentions do you miss? How often are your customers singing your praises on different social media platforms without your knowledge?

You can use tools like Google Alerts or Social Mention to monitor brand mentions.
